Ellie Cleasby is a second-year Geography doctoral student at the University of Washington. She is a feminist geographer interested in researching sustainable futurities, in particular the ways that people resist capitalist logics to engage in practices aimed at reducing social or environmental harms. Her current projects focus on systems of fast fashion and the myriad ways people are engaging with fashion outside of these global commodity chains ("slow fashion").
